Wilkes Habitat had a busy weekend this past weekend.  Phillip went out to represent the Habitat ReStore at Greenway Day.  It was a great chance to spread the word about how the ReStore is an exciting way to support Habitat.  The ReStore is in need of donations of furniture, appliances, and building materials.  We resale these new and used items to the public at bargain prices.

Isaac represented Habitat at the Wilkes County School’s surplus action.  He was able to get some computer towers.  So if there are any network engineers or geek squad types please do volunteer to help us get a network going.   There are plenty of technological volunteer opportunities in rehabbing these machines.

Gary had a good turn out of construction volunteers.  He even had a few first time volunteers.  They worked on the foundation for out next Habitat home. Please stay tuned for other ways you can help Habitat eliminate poverty housing in Wilkes.

Thanks to Habitat for Humanity International and the Charlotte ReStore for holding the first ReStore University.  I learned a lot.  Be sure to come by our Habitat ReStore, which is open to the public, to be a part of the excitement.  We sale new and used items which have been donated.  All proceeds  support of Habitat’s efforts to eliminate poverty housing in Wilkes County, North Carolina.

Welcome Wade

The Habitat ReStore is happy to welcome Wade as our newest team member. Wade will be a customer services associate. His responsibilities will be to process donated appliances, furniture, and building materials to make them ready for the sales floor. Wade will also assist customers in finding the new and used items we have for sale. He is part of the Winston-Salem Urban League Program.  Make sure you give him a Wilkes County welcome.

As a Christian affordable housing ministry it is our great joy to observe Easter as a holiday from work.  For that reason the Habitat ReStore will closed Saturday April 11th.

We are excited to announce that you can now donate online. All proceeds go to building homes in Wilkes County.
