Rachel_and_Kaitland.jpg   United Teens in Action (UTA)  is a group of High School students who are  leaders in their communities.  The program is sponsored by The Chamber of Commerce  and the Board of Education
  Rachel.jpg   UTA is a leadership program gear to empower students to help make their community a better place. UTA has choosen the ReStore as one of their two service projects.
    Kayla.jpg  When UTA volunteers come to work they are put on various tasks such as cleaning merchandise, running the cash register, and web development.

Isaac Kerns
Isaac Kerns has joined Wilkes Habitat for Humanity as the Executive Director as of 2/9/09. Most recently Isaac has been working in Johnson City, TN as the CEO for Paramount Tracking Services and prior to that as the Director of Home Repair Ministries for Appalachia Service Project (ASP). ASP is a non-profit home repair program operating in VA, WV, KY and TN.

Isaac is originally from Pennsylvania and he graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. We are pleased to have Isaac join us at WHFH and please come the Habitat office at the ReStore to welcome him to Wilkes County.

As a promotion of Habitat World Magazine the publishers set up a booth at the National Conference for people to get their picture on the front cover.  I hope we take a group to the Habitat National Conference in 2011.  Click the image to go to the magazine’s home page.

You can click the image above to link to Habitat for Humanity International story about its founder.  I like npr’s story, which can be found at this link.  NPR highlights Fuller’s connection with Koinonia Farm a ministry that has done great community development in Christ man for decades.  I am personally inspired by both Fuller and Jordan.
