Our intrepid Women Build team has accomplished a truly impressive feat with this project, having set a Wilkes Habitat record by building this home in under 6 months. This project was made possible through the hard work and dedication of countless volunteers, donors, committee members, and subcontractors, and we thank you all for your faithful service.
We are especially grateful to the Lowe’s Charitable & Educational Foundation, which provided completion funds for this project that made it possible for us to complete it least 6-8 months earlier than expected.
Everyone involved has made it possible for the Absher Family to spend this Christmas in their new home, and we invite the community to join us Sunday in celebrating the completion of this beautiful home.
Wilkes Habitat for Humanity builds and sells affordable homes with no profit, and with partner families paying a zero-interest mortgage. Mortgage payments are used to fund our next construction projects, meaning every dollar donated to our home building efforts is recycled within Wilkes County for as long as Wilkes Habitat for Humanity is building & renovating homes.
Due to space limitations, parking is not available at the home site. We will be parking at Arbor Grove United Methodist Church and running a shuttle to the dedication.
